土瓜灣街市位於土瓜灣市政大廈暨政府合署內，因為外牆及市政大廈入口處有一個斗大紅色蘋果圖案，所以當地人常稱之為紅蘋果街市或簡稱紅蘋果，而在街市外的室外街道上，亦充滿新鮮食材及肉類攤檔。錄音位置設於東九龍走廊的橋底下，能清晰聽到附近肉檔切肉的聲音。在錄音中，主要的聲音來源是一群老人在一張棋桌旁圍觀，熱烈地討論棋局，偶爾伴隨著粗俗的語言，展現出當地的社區互動。
